"Pittsburgh-based artist Julia Betts' work flirts with the idea of perspective and process. Though flat, her pieces have a dimensional quality.

Her process often includes photographing subjects in their home.

“My work is this container for mortality and emotionality,” she said.

Betts, who is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, found out about the exhibition through a call for artists on social media.

“I am just really happy to have been selected, and I appreciate the amount of work that it has taken to bring this all to fruition,” she said.

- Shaylah Brown, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 2025, "Pittsburgh and Brooklyn collide in this industrial art exhibition"
