In this piece, I create blinds out of paper and string and overlayed them over a portrait of myself. I used blinds as a metaphor for home. A house is a public mask for a private place-- the home. The concept of the "perfect" home and the "perfect" family mask reality When a home represents fear as well as safety, privacy becomes a weapon.
